Maarten holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and began his career in the insurance industry at Marsh in 2000, where he specialized in Power Generation, Telecom, and Renewable Energy. Among his notable insurance projects was the construction and operation of the Prinses Amalia Windfarm in the Netherlands.

In 2007, Maarten transitioned to ACE Europe, and two years later, joined Delta Lloyd. In 2015, leveraging deep industry knowledge, Maarten joined Canopius as Head of Renewable Energy.

At the end of 2020, Maarten and his team took a bold step forward by establishing their own Managing General Agent (MGA), marking a new chapter in their commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
